Story
The Ethiopian Government attacked the Tigray province of Ethiopia on Nov. 4th, bombing the capital city of Mekele, raping women, terrorizing millions, and in one horrific case slaughtering 750 innocent victims who were hiding in a church. (See articles below for more information).
The theological college that Bridges of Hope partners with to lead the MA Program in Leadership and Community Development, is based in the city of Mekele. We spoke with the leader of the school today and they are working hard to care for those who are most vulnerable: pregnant women, children, the sick and the elderly. Tens of thousands of refugees are pouring into Mekele, as they have been chased out of their cities and communities throughout the region.
You can make a difference today! Please pray, and help us raise emergency funds to provide for the needs of those who are suffering in Mekele through the trusted leaders we have been partnering with for the last decade. Funds will be used for food, clothing, beds/bedding, trauma counseling, and medication. Give however you feel led, and share this throughout your social network, inviting others to join you in praying and giving what they can.
Dennis and Susan Wadley just spent a week in Mekele providing supplies, leading a Trauma Healing Workshop, caring for the refugees/Internally Displaced People (IDPs). The needs are far greater than they ever imagine and they are trying to raise $50,000 asap, so please help us get this going virally!
