The Hindustan Bible Institute accomplishes its mission through its single strategy of equipping and developing committed, competent, matured, transformational leaders with a vision to disciple the unreached and plant churches where no churches exist.
*To train and mobilize Indian nationals
*To bring light into the midst of the darkness
*Through their efforts in Saturation Church Planting.
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” ISAIAH 9:2
We believe that the establishment of local churches among unreached people groups is the best long term method of evangelizing and making disciples in these communities. HBI is committed to establishing one thousand local churches by the year 2000, and helping other organizations with similar objectives.
The establishment of local churches creates the need for training and development of local pastors and lay leaders. Through its many training programs, HBI is actively serving the church at large in developing emerging leaders to minister in their communities and evangelize unreached people groups around them.
Often the poverty and remoteness of these communities requires an extension of the church planting ministries. HBI is extending the Hand of Christ by providing medical services and child care.
Let me tell you the story of one of the participants who attended the “Growing a Great Commission Church Training”:
Augustine is from the state of Andhra Pradesh but his father felt a call to go to Madhya Pradesh. Augustine grew up in the northern part of India. He was birthed with a challenge and his physical condition never improved. When he was 10 years of age, the Doctor gave up on him and said he would die in three days. His parents took him back home to pray over him because there was no other way. But to their surprise their prayers were answered.
Today at 68 years of age he has already served the Lord for more than 41 years in Madhya Pradesh. He has planted several churches in many parts of India. Today he heads up a church planting movement that has over 400 churches and pastors. I cannot explain the excitement Augustine expressed on how God touched his life during the course of this training. He is now going back with a vision to establish a model church, equip and train pastors with a vision and skills of mobilizing the church to become a great commission church. He is looking forward to casting that vision and seeing hundreds of churches in Madhya Pradesh become missional churches. Thank you for praying and supporting this Trainer of Trainers program. We had quality leaders from 10 states of India that included 8 movement leaders and 20 Regional leaders.
Some of the feed back of the participants from Growing a great commission Training:
Patton from Nagaland said, “The training made me realize the local church that God has entrusted to me is the greatest resource in fulfilling missions locally and globally”.
Rev. Bikash from Orissa said, “God challenged me to transform our mission into a Missional movement”.
Asish from Rajasthan said, “Personalization is the key to unleash the church”.
Tamang from Sikkim said, “this training prepared me not only to focus on Jerusalem but to train the believers and unleash them to take the gospel out of Jerusalem to Judea, Samaria and uttermost part of the world”.
Thank you so very much for praying. We still have a need to cover the expenses of this training. If God leads you to be part of this effort and be part of the 5 year plan to further equip these and 60 additional master trainers, so that we can enable the development of 3,000 missional churches all over India.
Our desire is not only to reach every man, woman, boy and girl in our nation but also join hands with the global church to reach out to the 2 billion unreached in our world. Will you join us in this vision?
