Equipping Centers for Youth In India

Shining Stars equips leaders to provide daily after-school holistic developmental programs for youth, run in partnership with churches, to raise the next generation of godly leaders from childhood. We believe in long-term development (10-15 years). Our programs provide support for homework, academic scholarships, emotional support, healthy snacks and activities, small group discipleship, prayer, worship, annual Vacation Bible School and residential camp programs. Nine such centers are running under our umbrella at the moment and we hope to add six to our tally in 2014. In order to accomplish this, we need your help to provide funding for these six new programs.

Shining Stars Centers for Youth Development was founded by Peter and Mercy Wiig, in 1996 in Hyderabad, India. One of our students, Moses, started attending the “Shining Stars Club” when he was 12 years old, originally just for the snacks. After a few years in Shining Stars, Moses slowly grew to be a volunteer, a teacher and eventually an employee, directing our VBS summer program. Moses is now 27, has finished his Bachelors degree, works for Amazon.Com and serves on the Board of Shining Stars! Moses supports Shining Stars financially, but most importantly, discipling children who are growing up in our program, so that they will have the same kind of opportunities he did.

Please support Shining Stars and encourage your social network to do the same. Together we can see many more children’s lives transformed in India!
