Bridges Academy is a Boarding High School in South Africa with 59 students who have come from a 3 million person urban slum outside of Cape Town. The student body is made up of participants in Bridges’ Orphan and Vulnerable Children’s Support Groups. The graduation rate in their communities is only 20%, but Bridges Academy has maintained a 100% graduation rate and most of our alumni have gone on to great success in college.
One of the biggest challenges our students have faced is the need for structured discipleship and stimulating activities in the after school and weekend hours. For the first time in our school’s history, we have staff who are going to be completely focused on this crucial need in 2014. In order for this program to launch in January, we need help with funding. Please give a $1 or more and encourage your friends to do the same, so that we can get this program underway!
